The Law Office of Derek R. District Courts in Bastrop County

Bastrop County has three (3) Texas State District Courts--21st District Court, 335th District Court and the 423rd District Court. Bastrop County District Courts (like all Texas State District Courts) have original jurisdiction in divorce and family law cases, cases involving title to land, election contest cases, civil matters in which the amount in controversy is $200 or more, and all felony criminal cases. 

All of the Bastrop County District Courts are located in the Bastrop County Courthouse located in the City of Bastrop. All three Bastrop County District Courts serve all Bastrop County cities and towns, as well as the entire population of Bastrop County, Texas.

Bastrop County Court at Law

Bastrop County also has a statutory county court--known as the County Court at Law.  The Bastrop County Court at Law has jurisdiction over all civil, criminal, original and appellate cases specifically authorized by statute for county courts at law.  Bastrop County Courts at Law also have jurisdiction in all civil matters with an amount in controversy up to $200,000. The Bastrop County Court at Law is also located in the Bastrop COunty
